Job SummaryAn administrative assistant is a highly responsible position within the police department. The administrative assistants work the “front office” and have direct contact with the public and various Town officials. They receive and direct visitors and telephone calls in a professional manner in order to address the safety, welfare and concerns of citizens and guests. They maintain confidential criminal justice records in accordance with existing Federal and State laws. They perform fingerprinting services; conduct background checks on licensee applicants; perform data entry work on citations and coordinate their activities with the Town’s Municipal Court Clerk. They also perform “relay” by transporting critical paperwork to the District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, Courts, Communications Center and other police agencies in the county. They serve as coordinators with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for the CCIC computer system. They enter and approve accounts payable using the Town’s computer requisition/purchase order system. |
Job QualificationsHigh school graduate or GED equivalent. Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Two year’s experience in a clerical position, preferably in a law enforcement agency. Excellent customer service skills. Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
