- Coin flip determines service or choice of court.
- First two games will be played to 25, cap at 27, and third game will be played to 15, cap at 17. There is a 45-minute time limit for all matches from the beginning of game. The team with the most points when time is called is the winner of that game.
- The ball is out of play if it hits the center court curtain, track, or walls. It will not be replayed.
- One, 30 second time out per game per team.
- Teams may warm-up depending on time available - there is not a guaranteed warm up period.
- Substitutes for an injured player may be made at anytime. The substitute will assume the position of the injured player.
- Only the captain of a team may talk to the referee if questioning a call.
- All calls made by the referee are judgement calls. Because there are no line judges, the referee may be blocked out and cannot see the line. If the referee needs help on a line call, he or she will ask both teams. If there can be no consensus between the two teams then a replay will be called.
- Team Captains are responsible for explanations, dissemination of all information, and enforcement of league rules and policies for their team.
- All USA Volleyball rules apply if not mentioned above.
CO-ED RULES:
- The serving order and positions on the court at service shall be alternation of male and female.
- When the ball is played more than once by a team, at least one of the contacts shall be made by a female player. Contact of the ball during blocking shall not constitute playing the ball. There is no requirement for a male player to contact the ball, regardless of the number of contacts by a team.
- When only one male player is in the front line at service, one male back line player may be forward of the attack line for the purposes of blocking.
- Coed volleyball teams can play with 4, 5, or 6 players. The number of males must be equal to or less than the number of females on the court. (Except: when a team is playing with only 4 players, there can be three males and one female.)
