Silverthorne to Begin Construction of Ruby Ranch Traffic Light

Post Date:04/11/2025 12:55 PM

The Town of Silverthorne is excited to announce the start of construction for the new Ruby Ranch traffic light. The new light will be located at the intersection of Ruby Ranch Rd. and Blue River Parkway, providing improved safety and access to the neighborhoods of Smith Ranch, Ruby Ranch and Blue River Run, as well as area businesses. The new light will also provide safe pedestrian crossings for the various nearby neighborhoods to access the Blue River Trail.

Construction of the new traffic signal will begin the week of April 14, 2025, starting with the concrete bases for the signal poles. Roadwork will begin in mid-May and will last until mid-July. The steel traffic poles are anticipated to arrive late summer and once installed, the Town will work with the Colorado Department of Transportation to activate the new traffic light. The new Ruby Ranch traffic light is expected to be functioning by fall 2025.

Temporary one-lane closures and detours will be in place at various times throughout the construction process. All lane closures and detours will be flagged and signed to notify travelers.

“The new Ruby Ranch traffic light will be a huge improvement in traffic safety and pedestrian access in the Town of Silverthorne,” says Town Manager Ryan Hyland. “By adding this light, residents of the Smith Ranch Neighborhood and other communities on the west side of Blue River Parkway will be able to safely cross the highway and access the Blue River Trail, while vehicle traffic can more safely make a left-hand turn. This traffic light has been identified as an important part of the Town’s Transportation Master Plan and recent corridor study with CDOT, and we are excited to complete this project.”
