Silverthorne, Colo. (October 22, 2025) – The Town of Silverthorne is thrilled to announce that it has been named a 2025 Colorado Creative District awardee by Colorado Creative Industries, a division of the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). The special designation marks the culmination of ten years of the town's community-wide efforts to support and enhance Silverthorne’s local creative arts.
The Colorado Creative Districts program aims to support and invest in unique cultural hubs that reflect Colorado’s vibrant spirit and are accessible to all. As part of the program, Silverthorne Creative District, the Town is now eligible to receive financial support, resources, marketing support, signage and leadership training.
“Seeing how our community has embraced public art, including pieces throughout the town, Town events that integrate art at every turn, the addition of the Art Spot, artist showcases like Theatre SilCo and the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, and other art-focused initiatives throughout the year, is so impressive,” said Silverthorne Mayor Ann-Marie Sandquist. “Silverthorne’s Town Council has invested heavily in these programs because our dedicated volunteers, residents and businesses have not only supported the arts but continue to ask for more.”
The Town earned the designation through a lengthy application process detailing existing creative initiatives and the support systems behind them. The creation and expansion of the Creative District could not have been possible without the help of many local volunteers, residents and businesses. Efforts that contributed to Silverthorne receiving the designation include the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, Theatre SilCo, the Art Spot and free community events such as First Fridays and Art Strolls.
