Cottonwood Public Works Site Under Construction
Construction on the new Public Works facility at Cottonwood began last month, with grading operations, following the award of a generous $1M grant for the facility from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) in July. A strategic plan for the Public Works Department noted that the existing Public Works Facility is space constrained and falling below current best practice standards. The Plan recommended that a new Public Works facility be constructed at the Cottonwood Subdivision to house all Utilities Department operations, the Fleet Maintenance Department, and allow for future expansion of Public Works operation as the town grows.
Residents may notice fill dirt from the Cottonwood site being moved to North Pond Park for a berm being built near the solar garden, in accordance with the long range master plan for the park. Fill dirt is also being placed in the overflow parking area across from Trent Park which is prepped for additional snow storage during the 2017-18 winter.
