The Town of Silverthorne will conduct a sanitary sewer smoke survey along Warren Avenue to assess the condition and air tightness of Silverthorne’s sewer infrastructure. This testing is a vital part of the Town’s ongoing maintenance to ensure the system's integrity.

Schedule:

The survey is scheduled for: Wednesday, September 2 from  9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What to Expect:

During the sanitary sewer smoke survey, you may see smoke exiting from sewer vents on rooftops or from manholes in the street. This is a normal part of the testing procedure. The smoke is non-toxic, leaves no residue, and will dissipate quickly.

Safety Instructions:

If you witness smoke inside your property during the test, please take the following steps:

• Do not call 911. This is not an emergency.
• Contact us immediately at (970) 262-7344.
• Calmly exit the facility to fresh air.
• Notify Town of Silverthorne personnel working in the area.

What to do to prepare:

• Flush all toilets and run sinks to fill P-traps.
