Project Summary

The Silverthorne Art Board seeks artists to install artwork on trail posts along the Blue River Trail from Thirsty Pika to the Silverthorne Recycling Center. These installations can be created in the medium of the artist's choice. Examples of what the Art Board is looking for include, but are not limited to, painting, yarn bombing, mosaics, wheat pasting, moss painting, wood carving, die cuts, etc. The project’s goal is to add vibrancy to Silverthorne’s trail system, encourage people to recreate along the Blue River, and transform utilitarian objects into eye-catching attractions that beautify Silverthorne’s downtown. In addition, the Art Board hopes this project will help bring greater attention to trail rules and etiquette, fostering a safe and respectful recreational environment along the Blue River Trail.

Five artists or artist teams will be selected this year to create an artistic installation on five different trail posts. The Art Selection Committee will designate locations for each artwork selected and artists will install the artwork at their convenience between August 1 and September 1. Signs and objects that are currently on the post will be removed during installation and reattached after completion. Please keep sign areas in mind when designing your installation.
