Selection Process

It is anticipated that more applications will be received than spaces are available.  Therefore, applicants will be selected through an organized process with the Silverthorne Art Board.  Potential tenants will be selected based on several factors, including but not limited to; excellence of work or business, ability of tenant to engage with or positively affect the Art Spot and community, and demonstrated connections to the Silverthorne community or desire to create connections.  An effort will be made to select tenants that result in a variety of offerings at the Art Spot.  Please note that the rooms may be large enough to share; therefore, joint applications are encouraged.

How to Apply

To be part of the application process, this application form must be completed and submitted before Jan. 30, 2026 at noon.  Top applicants will be selected to provide additional information (and potentially make a presentation to staff and members of the Art Board) and will be contacted via email by February 6, 2026 with further instructions.  Applicants not selected for the final round will also be notified by email by Feb. 6. Interviews with applicants will be held the week of Feb. 9-13.

Please note that tenants selected for a studio space at the Art Spot will be required to sign a lease, provide proof of insurance, agree to Art Spot policies, and may be required to obtain a Silverthorne business license. Additional requirements may apply.

Project Summary

In partnership with the Silverthorne Recreation Center, the Town of Silverthorne Art Board seeks an adventure themed photography display to be installed in the public hallway leading to Kid’s Korner at the Silverthorne Recreation Center.

The Silverthorne Art Board seeks a collection of adventure and recreation themed photographs that will be showcased inside the Recreation Center for a six-month time frame. The selection committee is looking for local photographers with either outdoor or indoor photography that highlights the recreational opportunities in our community. Photographers can be either professional or amateur.

The display areas can accommodate a variety of photographs from multiple photographers. The selection committee would like to select multiple photographers to participate in this exhibit with each photographer displaying 1–3 images. We ask interested photographers to please submit 4–5 images for selection. Photographers will only need to share a file and the Town of Silverthorne will print and frame these photographs for display. The photographs submitted must be high resolution photos with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI or 48 MP.

The honorarium is $150 total which shall constitute full compensation for use of photographs in the exhibit.

Installation Specifics

The Town of Silverthorne will print and frame all selected photos.  Size of prints is to be determined but expected to be at least 8”x10” and no larger than 16”x20” for each photograph.

The photographs will be viewed primarily by people either visiting the Recreation Center, using the restrooms, attending a class or using Kid’s Korner as it is visible in the public hallway on the top floor of the facility.

The adventure theme was selected to complement the nature of activities happening at the Recreation Center and create a connection between the facility and the strikingly beautiful surroundings.  Photographs should appeal to audiences of all ages.

Honorarium

The honorarium is $150 total per artist, which shall constitute full compensation for use of photographs in the exhibit.

Application Requirements

Artists are required to submit at least one and no more than five photographs for consideration.  The photographs submitted must be high resolution photos with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI or 48 MP.
