The Town of Silverthorne is making the first Friday of every month a reason for residents and visitors alike to get together and celebrate what’s special about this vibrant community. From arts and food to music and fun, First Fridays showcase the community’s talented makers, artisans and performers. They include hosted evenings with artists, chefs, brewers, musicians and more in various locales that welcome the whole community to participate.
Here’s what’s on tap for 2019:
An ode to winter motorsports in Summit County, January’s First Friday event — presented in partnership with Silverthorne Power Sports and Mountain Lyon Café — will include a professional outdoor snow bike demo, a winter motorsports fashion show and a snow bike video premiere, as well as live music, food and drink, all at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center.
A celebration of Summit County’s many cultures, February’s First Friday event will include a floating wish lantern festival down the Blue River, Salsa dancing, special food and drink, and much more!
The Silverthorne community will come together to celebrate the return of Spring. We will say goodbye to winter with a bonfire and a symbolic burning of the snowman. The brighter the fire burns, the warmer our spring will be. Come together for live art, music, food and drinks in the Trent Park Overflow Lot from 5-8:00 p.m.
Silverthorne will host its second annual live rail jam on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center lawn. Watch as more than 40 semi-professional and amateur skiers and riders launch themselves off numerous rails, jumps and other park features. The event will include live music, food and drink.
May’s First Friday event will honor the folks who call Silverthorne home. In partnership with Locals’ Liquors, the event will include samples from 30-plus breweries and distilleries, in addition to food vendors and a live band on the outdoor stage at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center.
The kickoff to Silverthorne’s month-long salute to the community’s biking culture, Cycle Silverthorne Month, June’s First Friday event will showcase local bike vendors and shops with special bicycle-friendly programming and will include live music, food and beverage.
The second annual Art on The Blue art festival will feature more than 25 artists from around the state showcasing their original works, along with a variety of special programming celebrating the arts in Silverthorne.
August's First Friday will feature a party in Rainbow Park with live music from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Frisco Funk Collective. Kids activities will include bounce houses, climbing walls, tumble bumbles and more. Come out and party in the park with your friends and neighbors.
