Personal training is a great way to get started, keep going, or move forward with your exercise regimen. The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers single sessions, semi privates and group training with personal trainers who have been certified through a nationally recognized organization.

Please submit a personal training request form via email to Renee Rogers or in person to the Front Desk to schedule a training.


Meet Our Personal Trainers

Mo began her fitness journey with the YMCA more than two decades ago. Fitness and community have helped her face personal challenges with strength. Mo enjoys working with those new to fitness, those looking to update their current routine, and those looking to push past their boundaries and comfort zones. She understands both the physical and mental challenges that present themselves when setting new goals. Mo believes that fitness is a journey, not a destination, and that goals should change overtime as our bodies do. She has a 200 hour YTT yoga certification and is certified in yoga, group exercise and as a personal trainer. 

 

 

Fernando SerranoFernando

Fernando Serrano is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified professional trainer and is excited, dedicated, and determined to help clients meet and achieve their goals. He can also perform and teach proper techniques for Mix Martial Art (MMA).  Fernando believes that as a personal trainer, his mission is to help accomplish a clients personal fitness goals by motivating and pushing your physical and mental health. “An accomplishment for me?”  a fun workout, turning into a beautiful healthy life! Fernando is bilingual.

 

 

Jean

Jean is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach who is deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward becoming the most confident, strong, and joyful version of themselves. After personally losing more than 100 pounds, he learned that true health extends beyond the physical. It encompasses mindset, lifestyle, and the daily decision to show up for oneself. Jean emphasizes functional movements that promote strength, mobility, and capability in everyday life, not solely within the gym setting. Whether an individual is beginning a fitness journey or returning to it after time away, [Name] provides guidance, encouragement, and celebration throughout the process, ensuring that wellness feels attainable, rewarding, and enjoyable.

 

 

Monte

Monte is grateful to have recently embarked on a second career in the fitness, health, and wellness field. He feels fortunate to live full-time in Summit County and fully embrace all that the area has to offer. Some of Monte’s favorite fitness activities include cycling, skiing, and playing pickleball. In addition to being a certified personal trainer, he is also a certified alpine ski instructor and mountain bike instructor. During the 2025–2026 winter season, Monte will serve as a ski instructor at a local resort and plan to offer mountain bike instruction in the area next summer. Monte welcomes individuals who wish to train specifically for skiing or cycling and is eager to help them reach their fitness goals.

 

 

Jenni Kuhle

Jenni Kuhle is a NASM-certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist who loves helping people discover how fun movement can be. Her sessions focus on posture, balance, and functional strength...because feeling strong, steady, and pain-free makes everything in life more enjoyable. She has also received extensive education on healthy nutrition habits and is currently pursuing certifications as a wellness coach, nutrition coach, and group fitness instructor. Jenni brings curiosity, laughter, and a sense of adventure into her training, helping clients move well and play more in everyday life.

 

 

Emily (Water Trainer)

Emily received her M.S. in Exercise Physiology in 2015, which included an internship at a community recreation center leading programming in aquatics, group fitness and outdoor recreational sports. In 2022, Emily completed the Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Certification to offer water personal training, which utilizes specialized techniques to increase range of motion, strength, balance, joint stability, and decreased musculoskeletal pain. AquaStretch, Ahi Chi, Bad Ragaz and traditional aquatic fitness movements are all incorporated in water personal training to assist you in reaching your wellness goals.

Youth Orientations

The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers youth orientations to introduce students to the weight room and circuit areas of the facility. Please submit a youth orientation request form via email to Renee Rogers or in person to the Front Desk to schedule a training.

Rates are $15 for passholders and $18 for non-passholders. 


Body Composition Testing

Find out the breakdown of lean vs. fat mass in your body. A personal trainer will test your body composition using skin fold calipers. For more information or to make an appointment, please contact the Fitness Coordinator at 970-262-7374.

Private Session (1 person)

  • Passholder: $30
  • Non-Passholder: $40

Fitness By Appointment

Gather a group of friends and request your own fitness class. Request your instructor or let us suggest one for you. Great for prenatal women, bridal parties, reunions, or those who are unable to attend our drop-in classes.

Requests must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Please contact the Fitness Coordinator for more information at 970-262-7374.
