Tsunami Swim Club (7 -12 Years)
Tsunami Swim Club is for children who love to swim and want to explore a more competitive side to swimming. Students will refine strokes, build swim endurance, and form lasting friendships. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend recreational based swim meets.
The Tsunami Swim Club run alongside the Recreation Center's other programs. Participants can expect to sign up for practices two days a week in 5-6 week segments. During the school year, practice takes place on Mondays and Fridays after school. In the summer, practice takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Entry Skill: Learn to Swim Level 4 or Tsunami swim test prior to program.

Entry Skills Tsunami Swim Test:
- 25 yards freestyle/front crawl with rotary breathing and arms out of the water
- 25 yards backstroke
- Familiarity with butterfly and breast stroke

Tsunami Senior Swim Team (Middle and High School)
The Tsunami are a small swim team in a mountain town. The team is comprised of athletes dedicated to the sport of swimming, cross-training athletes that love to swim, rehabbing swimmers, and those that love to swim without the competitive twist. This advanced swim team is for swimmers who have participated in the Tsunami Swim Club or have comparable swim team experience. Swimmers practice up to three days a week and have the option to participate in a more competitive area through USA Swimming meets.
Team members sign up for practice on a daily basis to provide ultimate flexibility to swimmers who participate in many activities. Participants choose a practice location and register for their swim days based on their schedule and calendar availability.

To compete in USA Swimming sanctioned meets, swimmers needs to be a member of USA Swimming. The Tsunami attend at least one USA Swimming meet a season. Meet fees vary.
Tsunami Dive Club (High School)
Thursdays beginning June 12, 2025 at Summit High School
Level 1: Get Started with Springboard Diving
Learn the basics of diving safely from the 1-meter springboard, and progress toward forward and backward dives.
Level 2: Advance Your Skills
Explore more advanced dives and improve your technique or prepare for competition.

Practice Locations
Practices are held at the Silverthorne Recreation Center and Summit High School. Both pools are 25 yards in length and have either four or six lanes. Each practice will be staffed with Town of Silverthorne swim coaches and life guards to provide the best environment and to meet our safety guidelines.
Typical Practice Schedule
- Mondays: Recreation Center from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m.
- Wednesdays: Summit High School from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: Summit High School from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Summit High School Practices
- Drop off for practices at Summit High School can start 15 minutes prior to practice start. Pick up is 15 minutes after practice finish.
Waivers
All Tsunami Swim Team coaches have received training in CPR, First Aid, AED, Concussions Training and General Safety Training to provide the safest environment for our swimmers. As very sport has inherent risk, participants should review the activity program waiver before completing registration.
