Chip sealing

The Town of Silverthorne Public Works Department is chip sealing several town streets this month to help maintain the roadways. Chip seals are one of many pavement preservation treatments used in the U.S. and worldwide and can help preserve existing asphalt- and chip seal-surfaced pavements for another 5 to 7 years.

Chip sealing is taking place on Bald Eagle Rd., Blue Grouse Ln, Black Hawk Cir., Clayton Rd., Maryland Creek Ln., Maryland Creek Rd., Maryland Creek Trl., McKay Trl., Palmers Dr., Peregrine Ln., Reese Rd., Rescola Ave., Riley Rd, and Talon Circle.

Fuel Mitigation in Silverthorne 

The Town of Silverthorne is working with Summit Fire & EMS to reduce wood fuels in open space between the Blue River Trail and Blue River Circle. This work is being completed to reduce hazardous wood fuels and improve wildfire resilience within the area, while maintaining ecological function and minimizing the disturbance to the surrounding environment. The project will begin in June and last throughout the summer. 

 ADA Ramp on the Blue River Trail at the Silverthorne Pavilion Bridge 

March 30 to Mid-Summer 2026

A new staircase and ADA ramp are being constructed along the Blue River Trail at the intersection of Fourth Street and the Silverthorne Pavilion bridge. This ramp will provide ADA-compliant access across the Blue River, connecting vital areas of Silverthorne and allowing better mobility for events and amenities. This construction will also create new and improved public space, including seating and river access. As part of this project, several trees along the riverbank are being removed to make way for the new ramp and public river access. Landscaping will be added once the ramp and stairs are complete. 

A pedestrian detour will be in place around the construction zone from March 30 to mid-summer.
