Water, Irrigation and Sewer Rates
Water, Irrigation and Sewer monthly flat rates are calculated as follows, per Equivalent Residential Unit (EQR) or average household:
- Water and Irrigation Flat Rate: $22.00
- Sewer Flat Rate: $43.75
EQR
- $1.61/EQR/Month/1,000 gallons for 0 to 5,000 gallons consumed
- $3.21/EQR/Month/1,000 gallons for 5,001 to 10,000 gallons consumed
- $4.77/EQR/Month/1,000 gallons for 10,001 to 16,667 gallons consumed
- $6.80/EQR/Month/1,000 gallons for 16,668 and higher gallons consumed
An EQR is an Equivalent Residential Unit. A single-family residence up to three bedrooms and three bathrooms is equal to one EQR. Each additional bed or bath is an additional 0.1 EQR. For example, a three bed/four-bath house is 1.1 EQR and would pay the water flat rate $22 x 1.1 = $24.20 for water plus usage.
Asset Maintenance Fee
A new asset maintenance fee of $1 per EQR per month will be charged to all accounts to help maintain the Town’s water and sewer infrastructure.
Account Setup Fee
Owners and/or tenants will be charged a $25 setup fee for new accounts.
Stormwater Management Fee
An increased level of maintenance is necessary to address the Town’s aging infrastructure. This fee will help reduce the potential for property damage due to stormwater drainage and maintain the local water quality.
Residential properties are charged $7.57 per month.
Commercial properties have a tiered rate based on impermeable surface:
- $6.31/month for 120-10,000 Sq. Ft.
- $12.61/mo.: 10,001-40,000 Sq. Ft.
- $63.06/mo.: 40,001-100,000 Sq. Ft.
- $126.12/mo.: 100,001+ Sq. Ft.
Water and Sewer Tap Fees
Water and sewer tap fees have been established so that new development pays for the increased water and sewer service it requires, helping the Town pay for future expansion. These fees are collected by Community Development before issuing a building permit for new businesses or residences. They also determine the number of equivalent residential units (EQRs) a building will require.
The tap fees per EQR are:
- Water Tap Rate: $9,476.00
- Sewer Tap Rate: $7,800.00
