When you visit the Town of Silverthorne with its well-maintained streets, beautifully landscaped medians and clean, safe parks, you are enjoying some of the services provided by the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department is comprised of 35 employees within 7 departments. It is tasked with maintaining all Town infrastructure and assets including streets, drainage systems, parks, buildings, fleet, and utilities.  The department also oversees design and construction of all new projects developed by the Town.  So welcome to the Town of Silverthorne's Public Works Department Web site. Facilities Department

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this department maintains all Town owned buildings and building systems including the Recreation Center, Town Hall, Town Pavilion, Performing Arts Center, and Town Shops.  This department  operates under an extensive preventive maintenance program and also assists the Parks department with maintaining buildings at Town Parks and Open Spaces.

 Fleet Department

Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, this department purchases and maintains all Town vehicles and equipment including police vehicles, heavy and light trucks and equipment, all parks and trails maintenance equipment, and any other duties which requires skills of a mechanic to complete.  The department operates an extensive preventive maintenance program for all of the above.

Joint Sewer Authority - Silverthorne/Dillon

The Town directs the Joint Sewer Authority (JSA) to provide a high quality wastewater collection and treatment system that consistently provides higher quality service and treatment than is required by local, State and Federal standards and that meets the future needs of the community.

Parks Department

Under the direction of the Parks Manager, the department maintains (and plows) all Town Parks, trails and open spaces including all parks buildings.  This includes flowers, turf, medians, open spaces, trails, sidewalks, and other public areas and green spaces at all Town buildings.  This department is responsible for holiday lighting and decorations and for the ice rink at North Pond Park. 

Streets Department

Under the direction of the Streets Manager, the department maintains all Town Streets including snow plowing (on all Town Streets and parking lots), drainage system maintenance, street maintenance projects including overlays, chip seals, reconstruction, striping, pothole patching, and all other related streets work.  The department also assists with oversight of all new design and streets construction.

Town Engineer

The Town Engineer provides services to all other departments and also serves and the Town Flood Plain Administrator.  The Engineer assists the Planning department with reviews and inspections of all new development.  The Engineer also manages the Town Street Cut Permitting system.  Finally the Engineer assists with management of design and  
construction of new streets and parks projects.

Utilities Department

Under the direction of the Utilities Manager, this department operates the Town Water and Sewer systems including water supply, water rights, water treatment and water delivery, as well as sewage collection and sewage treatment.  This department includes the Joint Sewer Authority, which provides wastewater treatment for Silverthorne, Dillon, Dillon Valley, and Mesa Cortina.  This            department   strives to comply with all State and Federal standards and operates under an extensive preventive maintenance program.
